Here are some ways you can help keep your boiler and overall heating system in tip-top condition.

  • Annual service – this is a great way to keep your boiler running smoothly. A registered engineer like the ones mentioned above will check your boiler on an annual basis. They look for signs of damage and corrosion and also check that the levels of gases coming from your system are at safe levels.
  • Bleeding the radiators – air can become trapped in your heating system and this can cause it to have to work harder to heat up your own. One you can combat this is to regular bleed your radiators. This removes the air from the system in a safe way. It is important that you only do this after your radiators have cooled down fully.

  • System pressure – regularly check your system pressure to ensure that it is set correctly. This can help to improve the efficiency of your system. If you are not sure how to do this ask the engineer to show you at your next boiler service.
