10 natural remedies to combat heartburn

Although natural remedies usually do not have contraindications, we have to hire them carefully: we may be allergic to one of the substances they contain.

The stomach acid is a nasty burning sensation that starts in the lower chest and may extend up to the throat.

In most cases, this disorder appears when the stomach acids flow back upwards, through the sphincter that separates the stomach from the esophagus and that fails to close completely or in the presence of some pressure on the stomach.

  1. Water

The first measure against the acidity is a simple glass of water. It will help to dilute the acid and facilitate its return to the stomach.

  1. Sodium bicarbonate

Baking soda, which you can find at any supermarket, is well known for its alkaline properties that help neutralize stomach acid and the body in general.

As you take?

Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink it slowly; it will help to lessen the sting.

  1. Potato juice

The active ingredients of the potato help neutralize stomach acid and regulate the production of gastric juices. Its juice is ideal to combat heartburn and gastritis.

Preparation: 

Remove a tablespoon of potato juice, dilute it in a little water and drink it after eating a big meal or heavy.

  1. Ginger

The ginger  was held in high esteem since ancient times for its precious digestive.

It is effective in case of acidity,   due to its slight alkalizing effect that adjusts the pH of the stomach and helps to balance acidic compounds.

Ingredients:

  • A teaspoon of ginger root (3 g)
  • A cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation:

  • Put to heat water and when it comes to a boil, pour a teaspoon of ginger root.
  • Cook for about ten minutes, then strain the tea and drink it.

Anise proves a good home remedy against stomach acid and all its symptoms;nevertheless, the first time should be taken with caution; some people are in fact allergic to its active.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 teaspoons of anise (6 g)
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation:

  • Put to heat water and when it comes to a boil, pour two teaspoons of anise.
  • Cook for about ten minutes, let stand another ten and then drink the tea.
  1. Apple cider vinegar

Despite the flavor of the vinegar is acidic, when it enters the body, has an alkaline effect which helps to decrease the acidity.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar (15 ml)
  • 1 glass of water (200 ml)

Preparation: 

Simply dilute a tablespoon of vinegar in a glass of water. Drink it immediately after consuming a large meal.

  1. Aloe vera juice

Having a plant aloe vera at home means you can count on one of the best natural remedies that can treat various diseases.

In this case, its gel acts as invigorating stomach, ideal to adjust the acidity and improve the digestion of food.

Remove two tablespoons of gel from the aloe leaf and add them to your smoothies or assume as is.

  1. Papaya

It contains a digestive enzyme, papain, which occurs in different digestive processes and helps ease the sting.

It is recommended in the treatment of some common ailments such as constipation, indigestion and gastritis.

Eat a piece of papaya, natural, in juice or smoothie in the past.

  1. Cinnamon

An infusion of cinnamon can do wonders for our digestion and fight ailments like acidity, gases and inflammation.

Ingredients:

  • A teaspoon of cinnamon (3 g)
  • A cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation:

  • Boil the water, and then pour a teaspoon of cinnamon.
  • Let stand the tea for about ten minutes and then drink.
  • You can enhance the effect by mixing it with a little ‘honey.

This delicious fruit has a pH of 5.6, a feature that makes it a good remedy to soothe the symptoms of the acidity of the stomach; nevertheless not at all it makes a good effect. If you want to try it as a natural remedy, the appearance of heartburn, eat it only a piece.

This tropical fruit, famous for its diuretic action, it also contains digestive enzymes such as brome lain that protect the stomach inflammation, gas and heartburn.
