Coffee will probably always have its own team of naysayers. However, surprisingly enough, it does have many health benefits. Most of the naysayers make noise about the amount of caffeine found in coffee but the health benefits may outweigh even the claims that caffeine is not healthy.

Lowers Type 2 Diabetes Risk
Those who consumed six or more cups of coffee decreased their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 22 percent. Another interesting factoid is that decaf decreased this risk by only 6 percent per cup, compared to caffeinated coffee drinkers who decreased their risk by 9 percent per cup. These are scientifically proven facts. Without this wonder drink in your diet, you may be seeing your houston family doctor a lot more often. It may be a drink worth drinking to maintain and increase good health.

Decreased Risk of Alzheimers Disease
The benefits are equally impressive when it comes to decreasing the incidences of Alzheimer’s. Caffeine has been scientifically proven to decrease the chances of developing this neurologically degenerative disease.

Prevents Cavities & Periodontal Disease
Black coffee has even been shown to reduce the incidences of cavities. This is due to the fact that studies have shown that black coffee is strong enough to kill the bacteria responsible for tooth decay. In addition, coffee was found to protect the gums from Periodontal disease as well.

Have More Antioxidants
Coffee is rich in antioxidants. The coffee bean itself is antioxidant rich. This miracle liquid contains more antioxidants than oranges, blueberries, raspberries, and grape juice. These antioxidants decrease inflammation in the body which helps prevent cardiovascular disease.

The USDA Approves
If all the other scientific health benefits aren’t enough to convince you of the many amazing benefits of coffee perhaps this fact will. The USDA approves of coffee and suggests that it be consumed as part of a healthy diet. In fact, the suggested amounts are 3-5 cups a day to boost health and prevent disease. Of course adding cream and sugar negates the health benefits.

Coffee may have many naysayers but science says it has many healthful benefits. It may be a good idea to keep drinking your morning joe. It may protect your heart and a whole host of other health issues that you could be more predisposed to without it. Overwhelmingly, caffeinated coffee has strong health benefits.
