Spending a day in Virginia

Estimated read time 2 min read

Virginia is a town located in County Cavan in Ireland. It was originally founded back in the 17th Century as a town for plantation workers. This took place during the period of the Plantation of Ulster which was undertaken by John Ridgeway who was an English adventurer. He named the town Virginia after Queen Elizabeth I of England who was also known as the ‘Virgin Queen’.

Over the years the ownership of the town passed hands and the population grew over time. But it was during the Great Famine that the population declined dramatically. This occurred all across Ireland and it took many many years for the country to recover.

The area is now popular with visitors who are looking to sit back and relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. The landscapes are breathtaking and you will want to make sure you have a working phone to take plenty of pictures to show your family back home. If your phone isn’t working you can always find a Vodafone Virginia company like https://kingcommunications.ie/vodafone-stores-near-me/virginia/ who will be more than happy to help you out.

If you plan on visiting Virginia, you should take a trip to Deerpark Forest Walk and enjoy the 5-mile trek through some spectacular woodland. Or if you like something a little more interactive you could visit Killinkere Visitor and Pet Farm and take a ride on one of the horses.
